Finally, Ariel kills Ursula by ramming the bow of a ship into her heart. Since Ursula is no longer alive, all the sea creatures she trapped are set free, but Ariel is still sad because she cannot be with Eric. When Triton recognizes how much Ariel loves Eric, he gives her a life as a human being.
