Description
The adventure includes a 25m cliff abseil onto the banks of the river next to the first rapid in the Phalingigwe Nature Reserve which is only 45 minutes from Johannesburg and Pretoria. The abseil is conducted from the last and most magnificent lookout point on the Phalindigwe Nature Reserve hiking trail providing a birds-eye view of the rapids as they snake their way through the ancient crags. Guests can descend down the cliff face more than once.
River Rafting -
Two-person high-tech ARK (African River Kraft) rafts are used and all equipment (i.e. helmets and life jackets) and professional guides are included.
The trip leader will provide a safety briefing and paddling practice on a calm stretch of water.
The rafting then begins over three exciting rapids.
This is followed by a series of rapids that pass 40m high natural slate gorges and banks of white stinkwood trees.
There is a calm stretch where everyone can take off their life jackets and helmets, swim, splash each other and have fun.
