Whether you’re looking to stay entertained with movies and series when travelling or want a larger screen to work from when you’re on the go, a smart tablet device is a great way to get more screen real estate while still enjoying the benefits of a compact device. With an impressive 10.1-inch screen, Huawei’s new MatePad T10s tablet is an ideal travel companion to complete remote work and enjoy entertainment anywhere.

A movie lover’s dream

When watching a film on a tablet, users want a screen that is big enough for them to feel immersed in what they are watching. The Huawei MatePad T10s was designed with an 80.6% screen-to-body ratio and a display ratio of 16:10, complemented by a high resolution of 1920 x 1200, ensuring that you don’t miss scenic details in picturesque moments.

Furthermore, Huawei has included its ClariVu Display Enhancement technology on the MatePad T10s to ensure users can enjoy films and TV without straining their eyes. Depending on what is displayed on your device, its algorithms will flexibly adjust contrast, sharpness and colour saturation to improve the overall viewing experience.

Watching ready and watching series on the MatePad T10s is a great experience. The device is ultra-thin and lightweight, so you don’t have to worry about your arms fatiguing from holding it for long periods of time. Images and text are crisp and clear on the screen, and it is ultra-responsive, with no lag, even with a multitude of apps running at the same time.

PriceCheck tip: Tablets are great when used in conjunction with a home automation system, including security cameras and a smart alarm. Check out the home automation listings on PriceCheck.

A crisp sound experience

The MatePad T10s is also equipped with a Harman Kardon certified dual-speaker 2.2cc large sound cavity audio system located symmetrically on the sides of the screen. The speakers on the device have been redesigned to allow a longer stroke path than traditional tablet audio systems, enabling the MatePad T10s to achieve a higher audio volume with low distortion.

For users who like to customise their audio experience according to what type of film they are watching, Huawei Histen 6.1 enables the support of 9.1-channel 3D surround sound with options to configure preferences. Furthermore, Bass Booster offers smart optimisation that enhances the bass in relation to the intensity of the bass frequencies.

The sound on the MatePad T10s does not disappoint. Straight out the box, the audio is perfectly adequate for video calls, streaming YouTube videos and other forms of video entertainment. If you’re looking to playback music audio or watch a movie, the sound quality is good and the volume more than adequate, but if you want a little more punch, then you’re better off investing in a pair of headphones.

In order for users to enjoy endless entertainment when they’re out and about, the MatePad T10s comes with ample storage space (64GB) for you to download your favourite show before you head out. It also has a Micro SD card slot for up to 512GB expandable storage, meaning users need not fear running out of space when downloading the next binge-worthy season of their most-anticipated series.

Available in Deepsea Blue, the Huawei MatePad T10s, with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is available at R4,499.
