Ready for the new school year? Here are PriceCheck’s back to school suggestions…

0

Kitting your child out for school can be a costly business – but with PriceCheck you can shop around to find the equipment your child needs to help avoid breaking the bank. Here’s our checklist of items your child might need as you prepare to tackle the new school year:

Backpack: Find the right backpack for your child with all the pouches and pockets for storing books, stationery, lunchboxes and juice bottles. Search the site with your child so you can find the right one to suit his or her needs – and tastes.

Roller case: Plenty of research has been done about the benefits of kids rolling their cases to school (in the manner of mini travellers!). It’s better for their backs and shoulders, and it improves their posture too. Your child could even just use a roller case on days he or she has a lot of books to schlep to school and use the backpack the rest of the time.

Togbag: If your kids are of the sporty variety they’re going to need to take a lot of equipment to school – and even if they aren’t, no one can escape PT! Get them a good-sized tog bag that will hold all their paraphernalia without things getting too squashed or creased. And remember, slip a couple of plastic bags in there too – great for storing sports shoes, wet towels and damp costumes.

Lunchbox: Okay, you’ve been to school, you know the drill: a lunchbox is one of the most important things in your schoolbag! There are so many to choose from: mini cooler boxes, ones with snap-on lids, ones that come with compartments for juice boxes. Whichever one you choose, make sure it holds plenty of food and keeps it fresh. Food is fuel. Not to mention the highlight of your child’s school day.

Tablet: More and more schools are asking students to have a tablet of their own these days. If it’s on your child’s list of must-haves this year, don’t panic: you don’t need to break the bank to buy one – find the tablet that will suit both your child’s needs and your pocket.

Laptop: In this increasingly digital era owning your own laptop is not only a convenience, it’s almost a necessity. Like the tablet, find one that will suit your child’s requirements and your bank balance.
