What do you get when you combine outer space quests with a myriad of awesome weapons and zombies? Call of Duty – Infinite Warfare, that’s what! It’s a story and action-rich thrill ride – lock and load!

In this iteration, you’re taking the first-person shooter action further…than ever. The campaign takes place in outer space and with this, comes new mechanics such as zero gravity; you’re going to have to become familiar with this new sensation, quickly.
Don’t worry; you haven’t been left up in the air – specialised equipment has been provided help you manoeuvre through the environment.
Your playable character is Tier 1 Operations pilot, Captain Nick Reyes – this puts you in charge of his fighter craft, the Jackal; it’s your very own flying fighter that you’re going to use in dynamic aerial combat! However, boots-on-the-ground warfare has not been cut – the seamless transition between the two types of battle is very impressive.
Retribution – while this is a great attitude to adopt for the game – it’s also the name of the core world. From here you are able to view your progress and begin your quests – both primary and secondary, the latter is known as Ship Assaults.
So, you think that you’re a Call of Duty pro? Well, say hello to the YOLO feature! Health regeneration (without Nano Shots) goes out of the window and weapons can be shot out for hands; oh, and if you die, you’re forced to restart the entire game – proceed with caution!
In multiplayer mode, you’re going to find that the “Combat Rigs” have been re-worked; you’ll have a choice between six rigs, each of which, have unique capabilities.
The weaponry has also evolved; this iteration introduces a weapon-crafting system; throughout the multiplayer mode, you can collect “Salvage” points, which will allow you to purchase prototype weapons; they are divided into classes: Common, Rare, Legendary and Epic and depending on the class your weapon falls into, you’re rewarded with “Gun Perks”.
Co-op multiplayer zombie mode – yes, you read that correctly. It’s completely separate from the primary campaign – it has its story and mechanics.
All of these elements create an action-packed immersive experience that will have you putting in many hours of gameplay.
Pros: Space dogfight combat; incredible setting; side missions; missions are well structured; fascinating weapons; state-of-the-art visuals; great cast of characters
Cons: Seems very similar to Black Ops 3; frustrating micro-transaction system; short story campaign
