South Africa Welcomes International Musicians

0

Our home has become a destination for international musicians, who make sure to include South Africa as part of their globe-trotting touring schedules. And South African’s have been only too happy to oblige.

Pint sized Aussie Kylie Minogue recently stopped off in South Africa to perform in Cape Town and Johannesburg in July as part of her Aphrodite World Tour. Fans were taken back to ancient Greece and treated to hits like ‘Locomotion’, ‘Spinning Around’ and ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’. The tour was aimed at promoting Minogue’s latest album ‘Aphrodite’ featuring the international hit ‘All the Lovers’.

British balladeer James Blunt made his way to South Africa for the second time during August, performing in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban. Supported by our own idols winner Elvis Blue, Blunt’s show sold out to rave reviews. The ‘You’re Beautiful’ singer performed his old hits while promoting and performing songs from his current record ‘Some Kind Of Trouble’.

The month of October sees two popular bands, Coldplay and Kings of Leon performing for their South African fans. English alternative band Coldplay will be performing in Cape Town and Johannesburg on the 5th and 8th respectively. The ‘Yellow’ hit makers will be releasing their new album ‘Mylo Xyloto’ on October 24. American rock band Kings of Leon, who postponed their tour from March, will finally be performing hits like “Crawl’ and ‘Use Somebody’ in Cape Town on the 26th and the FNB stadium in Johannesburg on the 29th in support of their new album ‘Come Around Sundown’.

Janet Jackson, who previously performed in South Africa as part of her Velvet Rope Tour, will be making her way back to South Africa during November. The Grammy Award winning singer will be promoting her ‘Number Ones’ album and performing hits that have made her one of the best selling female artists of all time. The ‘All for You’ songstress will be doing two shows in Johannesburg on the 11th and 12th and one show at the Grand Arena in Cape Town on the 15th.

Make sure you don’t miss out on these wonderful acts that are hitting the South African stage by booking your tickets as soon as possible.

P.S. If you’re a fan of live performances, you will be blown away by our local talent. The final four South African Idols are not to be missed. Tune in to MNET on Sunday and Tuesday evenings.

Rock on!
