Description
The wine is Boschendal 1685 Chardonnay, which is a light straw in color with lemony, cinnamon and nutmeg notes on the nose. The wine has zesty citrus and ripe tropical fruit flavors on the palate with well balanced with a soft, buttery character from barrel fermentation and maturation. The wine has an alcohol content of 13.5% and a volume of 750ml. The wine was produced in 2015 in the Western Cape.
Boschendal's Chardonnay grows in mountainous soils under ideal conditions. Hand harvested grapes were pressed and fermented in a cool cellar to preserve the graceful citrus and tropical flavours before some maturation in oak barrels, giving the wine a rich texture with elegant depth and buttery dimensions.
