This product is a zinc oxide powder, which is non-nano and not absorbed through the skin. It is probably the only safe sun protection available, and is great for adding to sunscreens, salves, lip balms, and mineral makeup formulations. The benefits of zinc oxide powder include that it is easily dispersed into a water in oil emulsion (such as an oil-heavy cream), is considered very gentle for the skin, and has a particle size of less than 0.2 microns.
