Description
This is a set of 10 gesso panels made in Italy with a multi-ply poplar wood base measuring 18x24cm. The panels have a high absorbency surface and are suitable for various techniques. They are handmade and have a smooth surface. The wooden base is 7mm thick and made of stable and lightfast poplar. These panels are made with acrylic gesso and may require extra oil for oil painting. They may not be suitable for egg tempera, which typically requires homemade gesso. There is a 10% discount for purchasing a box of ten panels.

Made with acrylic gesso these ultra-smooth boards are very absorbent and you may wish to use extra oil in your oil paint. But, they may not be absorbent enough for use with egg tempera which usually needs genuine gesso (homemade with rabbit skin glue and whiting). If the surface isn't absorbent enough the egg tempera paint may lift off the first layer when you apply a second glaze.
