This is a charcoal stick made by Faber-Castell. It is soft and can be used to create a line on paper.
These natural charcoal sticks by Faber Castell glide softly over
paper without scratching or breaking, leaving a rich bluish-black
line. They rub and smudge easily, and can be fixed with charcoal
fixative.The sticks are available in four degrees of hardness:
hard, medium, soft and extra-soft. This stick is soft.
