Bone Histology

Bone histology is the study of the microstructure of bone tissue. This microstructure can be used to understand the biology of skeletal growth and development, to model the structure of adult bone, to identify histological features of dental hard tissues, and to estimate the age of an individual. Bone histology is also used to study the biomechanics of cortical bone, to classify pathological conditions, and to study the histological study of bone tissue of archaeological origin.
