Description
The protagonist, Jacko Argyle, is falsely accused of murdering his mother with a poker. After Dr. Arthur Calgary arrives with evidence that confirms Jacko's innocence, Jacko dies in prison from a bout of pneumonia. The revelations that Dr. Calgary makes reopen old wounds in the family, increasing the likelihood that the real murderer will strike again.
