It is a selective bibliography, and includes articles and books from various journals in the social sciences. It is well known and respected as an authoritative source for social science literature. The IBSS covers over 2000 journals, and includes recent monograph publications. The IBSS is international in scope, and includes publications from Eastern Europe and the developing world. The IBSS is organized in a user-friendly way, with word sections and extensive author, subject, and place name indexes.
