Description
Dreamcatcher is a 2004 American science fiction horror film directed by Peter Jackson and written by Fran Walsh. The film is based on the short story "The Body" by Stephen King. It stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, and Richard Dreyfuss.
Four young friends, who are all disabled, work together to protect a handicapped boy from bullies. They are endowed with special powers after the boy dreams of a dreamcatcher. The friends meet once a year for a reunion at a hunting lodge, but this year strange things begin to happen. A disorientated hunter wanders into the cabin and the friends discover that his body has been taken over by a killer-wormlike creature. The friends must work together to save Henry, who is the only one left alive. They discover that the creature is an alien and that the box that the friends keep their dreams in is the key to saving Henry. The friends work together to save Henry and the alien is defeated.
Four young schoolfriends help prevent a handicapped boy from being beaten up by bullies and, in return, they are endowed with special powers. The four remain friends into adulthood and meet up once a year for a reunion at a hunting lodge in the Maine woods. However, this year strange things begin to happen when a disorientated hunter wanders into the cabin, and the friends discover that his body has been taken over by a killer-wormlike creature, leaving only one of the friends, Henry (Thomas James) alive. It soon transpires that this is the beginning of a deadly alien invasion and leads to the intervention of the army, led by Colonel Curtis (Morgan Freeman).
