The Pokemon Sword and Shield are coming to the Nintendo Switch in late 2019. The Galar region is a new area in the game that is full of diverse environments. There are different types of Pokemon living in Galar, including Grass, Fire, Water, and Rabbit. You can also choose one of three new Pokemon to be your first partner.

Introducing the Galar region
Get ready to discover Galar, an expansive region with diverse
environments, from a peaceful countryside and contemporary cities to a
thick forest and snow-covered mountains. The people and Pokemon who
live here work together closely to develop the industries within it.
Throughout your journey, you'll have the opportunity to visit various
Gyms in your quest to become Champion! You won't be alone though, as
Galar is home to newly discovered Pokemon that you can choose to be
your very first partner!
Meet Your First Partner Pokemon!
Your adventure in Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield begins when you
choose one of three new Pokemon!
- Grookey, a Grass-type Chimp Pokemon, is mischievous and full of
boundless curiosity.
- Bursting with energy is Scorbunny, a Fire-type Rabbit Pokemon
who's always running about.
- The stealthy Sobble, a Water-type Water Lizard Pokemon, shoots
out attacks as it hides itself in water.
