Description
The book is about a veterinarian, Mattie Evans, who is best friends with John McCray, the owner of the Lightning M Ranch. John is estranged from his son, Gil, who is a pro football player living in California. Mattie is called in to save a horse injured in a terrible accident and ends up getting thrown into the middle of a family conflict.
