Description
A practical guide-book for teachers working across the 7-11 age-range. It offers more challenge and depth by encouraging teachers to really investigate music with the children and manage music more effectively and with less stress. This work is intended for teachers working across the 7-11 age group who want to make music integral to the life of the classroom. It is the companion volume in a two-book set that aims to move forward the teaching of music with a "best practice in music" philosophy. While building on the National Curriculum, this book offers more challenge and depth on the subject both through practical ideas and by encouraging teachers to examine key issues. The two books acknowledge the very different developmental needs of children in the two age ranges ("Music in the Early Years" covers 3-6 year olds), and the different environments in which they are taught. Although the books have been conceived together, they also stand as independent guides.
