Death in a Desert Land is a novel by Andrew Wilson. It follows the story of Agatha Christie-like detective Mrs. Christie as she investigates the death of Gertrude Bell in Baghdad in 1928. The novel is well-plotted and hugely entertaining, and feels like it would have been a delightfully fun read if written by Agatha Christie herself. Sean O'Connor of the Evening Standard gave the book 5 stars, calling it "brilliantly plotted, stylishly written" and praising Wilson's "gift of sheer readability."
