Description
The St Gerard Majella Medal is a small medal that is 1.5 cm wide and 2.5 cm long. The medal may vary slightly in size, but the main features are the image of a pregnant woman and the inscription "Patron Saint of Expectant Mothers." The medal is celebrated on October 16th, the Feast of St Gerard Majella, who is also the patron saint of expectant mothers. St Gerard Majella died in 1755 and was beatified by Pope Leo XIII in 1893. He was canonized by Pope Saint Pius X in 1904.
