The company believes that hair dye that is not henna-based is the safest option currently available, and they have taken the time to develop a hair dye that does not contain any of the harmful chemicals found in henna-based dyes. Some of the ingredients in this dye, like propylene glycol, are known to be harmful if ingested, so the company is careful to choose only safe ingredients for their products. They also believe that grey hair is beautiful, and have developed a hair dye specifically for people who want to dye their hair grey.
Herbatint permanent hair dye is free of ammonia, resorcinol and parabens. We believe it is the safest option that currently exists on the market for those who do not wish to use henna-based dye. It contains propylene glycol which is on our list of ingredients to avoid, and some other ingredients (like Ethanolamine) that we would not usually allow. We think grey is beautiful, but if you are going to buy dye, and dont want to use a henna product, this is the next safest option. This decision took us 2 years to make, and was swayed by the large amount of customer requests to stock this product.
