The brewery De Poes was founded in 2014 by Stijn David, who was trained as a baker and dietician. The brewery is named after the brewers favorite pet, a Belgian Poodle. The brewery has two sites, one in Woesten and one in Tielt, and they brew their own beer both in the new microbrewery in Tielt and in Woesten. De Poes Export is a blond low-fermentation beer that has been brewed in accordance with the rules of art and experience. With a light barley flavor and aroma that can be expected of an export, De Poes Export is brewed with only one cereal (barley) and high-quality bitterness and aroma hops.
The story of brewery De Poes dates back to 2012. Stijn David, who was trained as a baker and dietician, decided to further pursue his passion for food and for beer in particular. The brewery was founded in 2014 and was named after the brewers favourite pet.
Since the very beginning, De Poes has been brewing beer at Deca Services NV in Woesten with a capacity of 30 hectolitres per brewing day. In 2016, they installed their own 10-hectoliter microbrewery in Tielt. However, they chose to continue its good cooperation with Deca Services NV so that they are now brewing on two sites. They have always brewed their beer themselves, both in the new microbrewery in Tielt and in Woesten.
De Poes Export is a blond low-fermentation beer that has been brewed in accordance with the rules of art and experience. With a light barley flavour and aroma that can be expected of an export. As a tribute to the extremely popular fermented export beer Dortmunder Pils, De Poes Export is brewed with only one cereal (barley) and high-quality bitterness and aroma hops. Both of these originate 100% from Belgian soil.
