Description
This is a review of a 12 year old Aultmore single malt Scotch whisky. The whisky has been praised for its refreshing taste, with a touch of grassiness. It is exciting to see a distillery release this whisky again, as it has been a while since it was released. The whisky is available in a 750ml bottle.
12 year old Aultmore single malt Scotch whisky, unveiled in 2014 for the Last Great Malts by Dewar's. A refreshing dram, with plenty of vanilla, honey and citrus, alongside a touch of grassiness. It's been quite a while since a distillery bottling of Aultmore has been released, so this is all rather exciting indeed.
Nose:A vibrant and fresh nose with mixed apples and pears, a soft floral edge and a lovely creaminess.
Palate:More fruit with sweet barely, custard pastries and a touch of spice and oak. Richer and thicker than the nose suggested.
Finish:A soft sweetness with mixed orchard fruit slowly fading to oak soft.
