Description
Scotia Victoriana is a whisky made in Scotland. It is a single malt whisky that is finished in deep charred oak. The whisky has an aroma and flavor that work in harmony. The whisky is bottled in the traditional way straight from the cask and without filtration. The whisky has a subtle wood and vanilla flavor that is enhanced by a full bodied spicy fruit aroma and mildly smokey aftertaste. The whisky has an elegant nose with hints of oak driving the bouquet. Interesting creme brul* notes leading to generous caramelized fruits and finally polished oak. The whisky has a sweet and concentrated start with some jammy blackcurrant fruitiness. The whisky has a big mid palate. The whisky becomes more austere with water. The whisky has a clean and initially sweet finish.
Originally launched in 2019, the second batch of Glen Scotia Victoriana is a vatting of first and second-fill bourbon casks, finished in 30% Pedro Ximenez sherry butts and 70% heavily charred American oak for 12 months before being married for a final six months. Non-chillfiltered and bottled at a cask strength of 54.2%.
Nose:Cr*me br*l*e, melted sugars, caramelised fruits and oak.
Palate:Roasted sugars, blackcurrants and spice.
Finish:Cocoa, dark chocolate and dark fruits.
