This is a data sheet for Gamblin Artists Oil Ultramarine Violet, a mineral color that greys into the colors of the natural world. It is warmer than Cobalt Violet, cooler than Manganese Violet, and more transparent than either. It is made by German chemists during the color revolution of the 19th century, and is one of many specialty pigments made by the company. Ultramarine Violet is lightfast in the I series, but can be darkened by exposure to light over time.
