Description
The product is a lotion pump that contains the active ingredient lactic acid, at a concentration of 10%. The product has been neutralized to a pH of between 4 and 4.5 to make it more acidic, which is supposed to help to remove dead skin cells and improve the penetration of other skin care ingredients. The product is also preservative-free and contains Phenoxyethanol and Ethylhexylglycerin.
R-Lactin Lotion contains the active ingredient Lactic acid, at a concentration of 10% neutralised to a pH of between 4 and 4.5. (Lactic acid on its own has a lower pH than 4 to 4.5 and is too acidic, therefore the pH is neutralised/adjusted to a pH of 4 to 4.5. The lower a pH, the higher the acidity). The removal of dry, dead skin cells in the stratum corneum (skins uppermost layer) not only improves the appearance of skin, but can also help to increase the penetration of other skin care ingredients such as moisturisers. While it cannot unclog pores because it is not oil soluble and therefore cannot penetrate the pore, it will ensure that dead skin cells are not blocking the pore opening. This allows sebum (oil) to flow more freely and can help to minimise breakouts.
