Description
The Google Nest Smart Doorbell is a home security device that uses motion and proximity sensors to detect events and notify the homeowner. It has a 3:4 ratio so that the user can see people from head to toe, as well as packages left on the ground. The Nest Doorbell can be battery powered or hardwired for power, and it also has a PIR motion & proximity sensor which trigger event recordings and notifications. The Nest Doorbell can be checked in live or look back 3 hours free, 30 days with a premium Nest Aware subscription or 60 days with a premium Plus Aware subscription. If the user misses a notification, they can go back and see what happened. The Nest Doorbell has HDR which helps with high contrast bright settings while night vision adapts to low light and darkness. The Nest Doorbell can be voice activated with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.

- In order to get an audible chime that's not just on your phone, you can choose the wired installation and use your existing chime, or paid with a Nest Mini4 (sold seperately)
- Regardless of how you install the Nest Doorbell, it cannot continuously record 24/7 video history (rather, it records events where the sensors are triggered)Â

Home requirements:
- A Google Account
- A home Wi-Fi network — a working broadband internet connection with at least 2 Mbps upload speed (DSL may not qualify)
- One of the following mobile devices:
- An Android phone running Android 8.0 or later
- An Android tablet running Android 8.0 or later
- An iPhone or iPad with iOS 14.0 or later
- You can download the Google Home app from the Google Play Store or the App Store
- Please note, it is not compatible with the Nest app or the home.nest.com site
- Voice Assistant: In order to voice-activate the device, you would need compatible Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa-enabled devices
Installation Types:
- Battery installation: Get a notification on your phone and on your Google Assistant-enabled speakers and displays when someone presses the button (your existing wired doorbell chime will not ring)
- Wired installation: This means your existing wired doorbell will chime when someone presses the button, and you can get a notification on your phone and on your Google Assistant-enabled speakers and displays
