Description
Nederberg Winemasters Chardonnay is a wine made from Chardonnay grapes sourced from top-performing vineyards in Darling and Stellenbosch. The grapes were grown in granite and sandstone soils, resulting in grapes with higher natural acidity. The vines were grown on mostly south to south-westerly facing slopes, received supplementary drip irrigation, and were grafted onto phylloxera-resistant rootstocks. The wine was bottled at 750ml.
Understated typical citrus aromas vie with stone fruit such as nectarine and white peach which are all present on the palate too. Theres a riper, subtle element of pear and quince which comes through, again with a gentle creamy vanilla oak nuance from clever use of both new and older oak barrels.
