Description
The Riviera Demi-sec is a Champagne made from a blend of different grape types. It was created in the early 1800s by Louis Heidsieck, and is currently one of the most awarded Champagnes in history. It has a fruity, light taste with a refreshing, airy finish. It is also exotic with a bit of ginger added.
The most awarded Champagne of the century.
History is a fabric woven of encounters, the fruit of all the stories it comprises. Florens-Louis Heidsieck created his first vintage in 1785 for Agathe Perthois. The fruit of a love story, our House has kept alive this memory for more than two centuries, combining ambition with expertise, passion with the character of those who founded the Piper-Heidsieck legend. As a result of these unions, we build upon Henri-Guillaume Pipers winemaking talents and his wifes surname, the audacity of the Marquis Suarez dAulan and the passion of the Descours family.
TASTING NOTES:
GENEROUS: Initial fruity notes of pear and yellow peaches gives way to heady scents of honeysuckle followed by star anise before yielding to mouth-watering, sweet aromas of crisp caramel atop a fresh cr*me brulee.
REFRESHING: Generous firm fruits to flavours of light, airy marshmallow. Elegant and invigorating, initial notes of almond syrup surrender to a subtle fresh finish enhanced with notes of vanilla and orange blossom. The bubbles crystallised by ice, offer a sweet spice dimension.
EXOTIC: Add a bit of ginger, to lend a touch of exoticism.
