Description
The Chocolate Block Imperial 6L wine is a blend of red wine grapes from the Cape region of South Africa. The wine is dark and intense with aromas of black cherries, cardamom, sweet tobacco, espresso, and subtle whiffs of perfume. The wine is medium bodied with a earthy, layered character, covering the entire spectrum of berry fruit - from tart red plums to rich blue and black berries. The finish is svelte, clean, and dry, peppery and lingering with hints of dried cranberry, tar, graphite, and smoke. The bottle size is 6L.

The Chocolate Block Imperial 6L has a gorgeous nose that expresses abundant floral perfume supported by cedar, redcurrant, black pepper, coriander and suggestions of Turkish Delight. Softened red fruit follow onto the palate which is multilayered and exhibits marzipan, mineral notes and a structure that's silky. The wine is poised and textured.
The make-up of this wine is tweaked from vintage to vintage to best reflect the season and the ancient vines of great character that are an integral part of the wines charm and personality.
