Description
This wine is from the Des Dieux vineyard in the Case 6 appellation. The wine has a depth and clarity that is the defining characteristic, with a nose that shows gentle wood smoke, oyster bed, sevilleorange and lime peel, orange flower water, and buttery, lactic notes. The wine has a flavor profile that is decidedly fresh and cool, balanced tantalizingly with a rich, unctuous palate. Onthe palate, the fruit shows yellow and green plums, finishing with more lime peel and wood smoke. The wine is tight-knit, showing beautifully integrated oak flavors. Such a complex wine is always evolving and will reward slow savouring, as well as a number of years in the cellar.
