Description
The Orange Industrial One Lever Switch VMC111AM is a one-way switch that is designed for use with lighting loads up to 16A. The switch is supplied with multiple knockouts, making it easy to connect wires to the terminals. The switch is made from a heavy duty steel housing, and is powder coated to avoid rust and corrosion. The switch is supplied with a wiring diagram on the side of the switch, making installation and connection simple. The switch terminals use a clamping mechanism to prevent stranded cable from breaking and coming loose.
The VMC series of Industrial One Lever Switches have been manufactured from a high quality thick steel to ensure strength and durability. The metal parts have been powder coated with a high quality paint to assist in reducing the chance of rust.
The switch module has been tested and approved to the required standard of IEC / SANS60669-1 and has been issued with an LOA (Letter of Authority) from the NRCS (National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications) allowing for the sale of the product in South Africa.
The switch module can be used for switching any lighting load up to 16A, including fluorescents and LEDs. The same switch is used for modular socket combinations where applicable. Switches incorporating a blue neon can also be purchased to add a little aesthetic flair to the installation (refer to VL series of switches).
The internal switch rocker is made from copper and has silver tip contacts to ensure the best possible conductance. The plastic casing is made from a mix of high quality plastics including flame retardant polycarbonate to ensure strength, durability and prevention against fires and nylon to allow for flexibility which ensures the module can easily be inserted or removed from the fixing frames. Once the module is inserted in the fixing frame it can only be removed with a small flat screw driver but due to the flexible properties of nylon the clipping mechanism can easily be pushed in to allow for removal of the module.
The switch terminals are clearly numbered with a corresponding wiring diagram on the side of the switch to make installation and connection as simple as possible. The switch terminals use a clamping mechanism as opposed to a screw connection in order to prevent stranded cable from breaking and coming loose. The switch terminals come with 2 holes per terminal to make it easier and safer to insert 2 wires when bridging is required.
