Description
Hot Melt Glue Guns are used to apply hot melt glue to various substrates. The glue is initially hot and can burn skin. Hot Melt Glue is also high in viscosity, making it ideal for porous and permeable substrates.
Hot Melt Glue Guns work in conjunction with Glue Gun Cartridges. The
cartridges are cylindrical sticks of solid glue that melt when pushed
through the glue gun.
The glue is tacky when hot, and solidifies in a few seconds to one
minute. Hot melt adhesives can also be applied by dipping or spraying,
and are popular with hobbyists and crafters both for affixing and as an
inexpensive alternative to resin casting.
Once heated, the glue squeezed out of the nozzle is initially hot
enough to burn and even blister skin.Â
In general, hot melts are applied by extruding, rolling or spraying,
and the high melt viscosity makes them ideal for porous and permeable
substrates. The melted glue will bond to an array of different
substrates including: rubber, ceramics, metals, plastics, glass and
wood.Â
