The Halley Easel is a beautiful, sturdy easel that can accommodate canvases up to 80in tall. It has a variety of height and tilt settings - it can tilt into a table for gessoing, varnishing or watercolour work, or tilt forward for pastel artists to allow the pastel dust to fall from the work surface. The easel also has a multitude of settings for use with oil, acrylic or airbrush. The easel remains secure because of rubber grips on the top, bottom, and center painting trays. The center painting tray can be used flat or tilted at an angle, and the tray/palette has a white Melamine paint mixing surface with a stainless steel canister for solvents, oil, and other materials. You can also use the bottom shelf for other storage.

While the Halley handles canvases up to 80in, we recommend it more for
its multimedia capabilities. The Halley will accommodate a very large
canvas, although it will be near to the floor and unable to tilt
vertical or forward. This easel really excels for its ability to hold a
mid-size board or canvas easily at any angle. We recommend the Halley
if you want a single easel for mid size works in every medium. It is
also excellent for artists who like to sit while they paint.
Like all Richeson easels, the Halley is a beautiful piece of
handcrafted furniture, made of solid red oak with a hand rubbed oil
finish. It truly is an excellent quality item which will provide
longevity and reliability for years to come.
