Description
The scissors are 15cm/6in in size and have a straight blade. They are used for cutting sutures and thin surgical wires during and after surgery. They are safe to use on light sutures. These scissors are also known as "suture scissors" and there are both straight and curved versions available for different levels of wound penetration.

The operating scissors are used as thread scissors to cut sutures and thin surgical wires intraoperatively and to remove sutures postoperatively. These scissors can cut even light sutures safely. Straight-bladed Mayo scissors aredesigned for cutting body tissues near the surface of a wound. As straight-bladed Mayo scissors are also used for cutting sutures, they are also referred to as "suture scissors". Curved-bladed Mayo scissors allow deeper penetration into the wound than the type with straight blades.
