Description
The XL Series pizza braai is a small oven-style braai that is built for pizzas but has the potential for any dish with an added smokey taste. It can reach very high temperatures (420 degrees celsius) but it's easy to regulate your heat. The vented coal frame helps airflow to your coals and fire. The same with a braai, lots of coal ensures lots of heat and fewer coals give you less heat. Using this method, here are some ideas, some more adventurous than others: Nachos, slow roasted lamb ribs, pork ribs, grilled chicken, roasted veggies and potatoes, grilled hasselback potatoes, pork belly, grilled giant mushrooms, baked muffins, grilled sandwiches, grilled halloumi cheese, grilled fish, braai pies and s'mores, malva pudding and more. Part of the fun is trying out new ideas.

In 2012, the idea was to design a pizza oven that could fit into a braai and it was soon realised that serious heat was needed to make great-tasting pizza. The need to have a pizza braai small enough that it could stay in your braai when not in use, but still leave enough space to braai, was the catalyst to upgrade the original design to create a versatile, top-performing, compact pizza braai to be a true champion at pizza parties.
