Description
The Hakushu Distillers Reserve Single Malt is a whisky made with a young lightly peated malt and a heavily peated and 18 year old American oak whisky. The whisky has a green and crunchy entry with a wide variety of ages, from across the range of casks used by the distillery, to create a gently smoky dram. The nose has a herbaceous smell with green fruit, mint, cucumber, pine, grassy, and spearmint. The palate has a lot of green things coming out of it, mint, cucumber, green fruit, grapefruit, and just a touch of smoke at the back. The finish is light, delicate, and refreshing with some subtle smoke.
