Hakushu 12 Year Old is a Japanese whisky that is a perennial favorite and a must-try for anyone interested in discovering Japanese whisky. The whisky is owned by Suntory, founders of the first Japanese distillery, Yamazaki. The original Hakushu distillery was built in 1973, with another distillery building called Hakushu Higashi (east) added in 1981. The whisky has a light and grassy nose with slightly stony notes at first. The whisky has a pure and very clean palate with sweet lime, green fruits, and a hint of smoke. The whisky has a light to the point of fragility finish with honey, lemon, and a little ginger. The whisky has an Alc: 43%.

Nose:Light and grassy and slightly stony to start. In time theres sweet persimmon and nut.
Palate: Pure and very clean. Sweet lime, green fruits then a hint of smoke and a buttery meadow sweet/chamomile note. Light to the point of fragility.
Finish: Honey, lemon and a little ginger.
