Description
Tormentil is a dried herb that is used for a variety of purposes, including treating diarrhea, intestinal infections, and wounds and cuts. It is also used as a dye.
Tormentil is considered useful in cases of diarrhea, especially when it is acute or of nervous origin. Also for intestinal infections - dysentery, gastroenteritis and enterocolitis.

TRADITIONAL USES (EXTERNAL)
As a mouthwash for laryngitis, pharyngitis, bleeding gums, and mouth ulcers.
Use as a lotion to ease hemorrhoids.
A strong decoction can be used to wash inflamed eyes.
It will speed up the healing of wounds and cuts.
OTHER
Popularly to use as a dye.
HOW TO USE
Decoction: Put 1-2 teaspoonfuls of herb with 1 cup of cold water. Bring to the boil and simmer gently for 10-15 min. Strain and drink 3 times a day.
Tincture: Take 2-4 ml 3 times a day.
WARNINGS
Appears to be safe for use in most people however it may cause side effects such as nausea, vomiting and stomach complaints.
Not recommended for use whilst pregnant or breastfeeding.
