Before first use, remove the parts from its packaging. Wash the inside of the kettle body with a mild liquid detergent and warm water. Rinse well and dry thoroughly.Follow the using the kettle instructions to boil the maximum amount of water.The boiled water should be discarded and the kettle rinsed out with cold water. Repeat at least three times to remove any manufacturing dust. Using the Kettle Unwind the power cord from the cord storage situated below the base. Position the base on a level and stable surface. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of table or counter, or touch hot surface. Open the lid by pressing the button situated on top of the handle.Fill the kettle as required never less than the minimum (min) level shown, or more than the maximum (MAX) level on the water gauge. Close the lid by pushing gently down until it clicks into position.Place the kettle on the base. Plug in the mains plug into the mains socket and turn the socket on. Turn the kettle on by moving the ON/OFF switch downwards to the 1 position. The switch will illuminate while the kettle is heating. The water will boil and the kettle will turn off automatically. The switch will return to the 0 position and the indicator light will switch off. The boiling sequence of the kettle can be interrupted at anytime by moving the ON/OFF switch to the 0 position.Remove the kettle from the power base and carefully pour the water from the spout, as required. Take care with very hot water.Once the water has cooled, it can be reheated by pressing the ON/OFF switch. The kettle will not reheat if the water is still hot. If the kettle has just boiled, wait at least 2 minutes before switching the kettle on again to re-boil water. Do not attempt to hold the ON/ OFF switch in the ON position. Tips To reduce energy consumption, use only the amount of water you need.To extend the life of your kettle, descale the kettle regularly. Use descaling agents which can be purchased at Dis-Chem or any retail store. Follow the directions for use carefully.
