Description
The author of the passage is writing about a comic fantasy novel called "Help!" which is set in contemporary London. The protagonist, Frank Wormold, is an unsuccessful writer who is offered a large sum of money by a Hollywood producer to write a story for him. However, he only has half of the story written and he needs the help of a computer to finish it on time. The computer is initially very helpful, but starts to take over Frank's life and his story, so he needs "help" of a different kind.
