Description
The GlenDronach 18 year old is a single malt whisky named after the distillery's founder, James Allardice. It is non chill filtered and has a natural color. The whisky is matured in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks and has a 46% alcohol content. It is described as a rich and unforgettable sherried malt. The master distiller for this whisky is Billy Walker and it comes in a 750ml bottle.
The Glendronach distillery's core range underwent a shiny redesign in 2024, and here we have its smart new-look 18 Year Old single malt. The Highlander was matured completely in oloroso sherry casks from Andaluc*a in Spain and boasts an exceptionally rich and fruity sherried profile.
NoseSherry notes so thick you need a knife to cut them! There's a hint of old rum in there too, with pineapple and brown sugar in tow.
PalateChristmas cake, rum again, chocolate-coated hazelnut, runny honey and a hint of Sauternes.
