The seeds can be soaked in water to increase germination rates, and can be grown indoors or in a sheltered environment for the first 3 to 6 months if temperatures are kept above 15 degrees. Male and female plants are both required for fruit production, with male papaya plants having panicles (long stems) with many small fragrant flowers on them, and female papaya plants having larger single flowers close to the stem of the plant.

Sweet Dwarf Papaya is a prolific grower and produces large amounts of fruit in the right conditions. Great for fruit salads or on its own.
