Marvel's Thor is a 2011 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Thor, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. It is the fourth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), and is directed by Kenneth Branagh. The film stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Stellan Skarsgård as Jörmungandr, Kat Dennings as Fandral, Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, and Colm Feore as King Odin. Thor is the son of Odin and Frigga, and is raised on the planet Earth by the human Jane Foster. When Loki, the god of mischief, tricks Thor into killing his father, Odin banishes Thor to Earth to live among humans. Thor learns to use his powers to protect the people of Earth from Loki and his allies, and to find a way to return to Asgard.

Synopsis:
The epic adventure THOR spans the Marvel universe from present-day Earth to the cosmic realm of Asgard.
