OPINEL NO7 OP001697 ROUND ENDED STAINLESS SAFETY BLUE KNIFE
Opinel knives company was established in the French Alps' heart in 1890 by passionate inventor Joseph Opinel. They are the famous manufacturer of folding and pocket knives that are robust and functional. They are known for their excellence and simplicity. Since its establishment, opinel knives have proven to be popular due to Low price, sturdy construction, ease of maintenance, and sharpening. The knives were once extensively used by farmers, sheepherders, caretakers, and rail workers but now has become emblematic of French culture. Opinel knives are made of both high carbon and stainless steel, being Sandvik steel from Sweden. Opinel knives come in various models, sizes, and materials.
DESCRIPTION
Sandvik stainless steel:
We use Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of chrome and requires no special maintenance. Its carbon content of at least 0.40% gives excellent cutting edge.
Round-tipped blade:
The tip of the blade is rounded for safety. This is also an ideal blade for spreading.
Handle:
Coming from French forests, this white wood with few veins is indeed ideal for applying color. The handle is varnish to protect it against moisture and dirt.
Safety ring:
Invent by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fits to all folding knives from the N 06. Cut out of stainless steel, the Virobloc also has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade open (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade closed (safety in transport).
