This is a description of a Crescent Professional Grade Cold Press (NOT) Illustration Board. The textured surface of a Cold Press board permits the medium to be applied without fast absorption, which in turn allows the washes to blend smoothly. The difference between the Professional grade illustration board and the student grade illustration board is that the Professional grade boards are thicker and constructed of a higher quality surface paper - 100% cotton fibre acid-free. They are more warp resistant and can accept more aggressive wash applications than the student boards.
