The Bridgertons is a series on Netflix that is a spin-off of the historical romance series The Bridgertons. The first book in the series is The Duke & I. In the book, Daphne Bridgerton is a friend of Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings. They have a plan where she will pretend to be in a fake courtship with him in order to stop the mothers from trying to marry off their daughters to him. The plan works for a while, but eventually they fall in love with each other.
