Dala also offers a range of oil painting mediums that can alter the consistency, gloss, transparency, flow, and texture of the paint on the canvas. They also provide various tools and accessories for working with oils, such as palette knives, brushes, mediums, and easels. When using different types of media on the same surface, it is important to follow the "lean to fat" rule, where lean mediums like watercolor and acrylic can be applied first, followed by oil. To clean brushes and palette knives, Artists' Turpentine or Artists' White Spirit can be used to remove oil residue, followed by washing with warm, soapy water and allowing them to dry.

Helpful Tip:The golden rule when using different kinds of media on the same substrate is "lean to fat". This means that colour mediums like watercolour and acrylic colour can be applied to the canvas first and oil colour may be appliedonto that. However, it is not advised to apply the oil colour (fat) first and then acrylic or watercolour (lean).
