Materials Needed:
Castor oil: Look for hexane-free castor oil.
Unbleached wool or cotton flannel: Cut into rectangular pieces (approximately 12 inches by 10 inches).
Medium container or bowl
Tongs
Scissors
Plastic sheeting(such as a small tablecloth or garbage bag)
Making the Castor Oil Pack:
Pour castor oil into the container.
Soak a piece of wool or cotton flannel in the castor oil until its completely saturated.
Lay the soaked cloth flat on the plastic sheet.
Repeat the process with two or more additional pieces of cloth.
Layer the oil-soaked cloths on top of each other to create your castor oil pack.
Using the Castor Oil Pack:
Lie down on a large towel or sheet to catch any oil drops.
Place the castor oil pack on the area you want to treat (e.g., over your stomach for digestive issues).
Cover the pack with a small plastic sheet to heat and press it against your skin.
You can add a hot water bottle or heating pad on top of the plastic for extra warmth.
Leave the pack on for about 45 minutes to an hour.
Afterward, remove the pack and wipe the area clean with a warm damp towel.
Store the castor oil pack in the container and refrigerate it.
You can reuse each castor oil pack up to 30 times.
Safety Considerations:
Some people may be allergic to castor oil, so do a patch test if youre using it for the first time.
Avoid falling asleep while heating the pack to prevent burns or injuries.
