Description
Soul Barrel's annual fresh, wet hop pale ale, Soul Shine. Wet hopping is the seasonal technique of adding hops directly to a brew within a few hours of picking, instead of drying and storing them. For this years batch we selected the very last crop of the season, a plot of Southern Promise hops. They were added directly to our hopback, where there were soaked in the beer before going to the fermentor. After fermentation the beer was then dry hopped with Cascade.
Wet hops bring a green, minty fresh flavour that goes amazingly with the grapefruit-pine notes of old school west coast hops like Cascade.
