This single malt Japanese whisky is from the Kogei Collection of the Japanese Kimono Edition. Distilled in the oldest distillery in Japan, the Yamazaki Distillery, it is bottled at an alcohol strength of 43%.
Yamazaki Peated Malt Spanish Oak opens gently with smoky notes on the nose and gives rich floral flavors of bitter orange marmalade and dark chocolate. Sophisticated smokiness enters the palate in harmony with notes of soft sweetness and faint citrus.
In partnership with Chiso, Kyotos premier Kimono House, which has been making the best Japanese kimonos since 1555, the 2024 Japanese Kimono Edition was developed. Chisos pattern creators used the age-old technique of Bokashi-zome (gradation dyeing) to infuse the labels and exterior packaging of the bottles with the history of the House of Suntory and these distinctive Yamazaki and Hakushu whiskies.
